Metastablesound is an independent record label and publishing house created to document the work of artist Paul Hartsaw. It is our mission to provide access to recordings and written works that document Mr. Hartsaw’s musical output in a wide range of musical contexts from ad hoc free improvisations to large ensemble collaborations.

As with most musicians pursuing a career in jazz and improvised music, funding for production and distribution of recorded works is minimal and usually, as in this case, comes completely out of the pocket of the musicians involved. Consequently most of the CD's offered from metastablesound are produced ‘in house’ as short-run CD-R releases.

We anticipate having the studio recordings produced professionally as funding becomes available. As a result we are not accepting any submissions for release at this time.
